How can I maximise ice retention?

Pre-chill the cooler overnight with sacrificial ice. Use block ice or frozen water bottles instead of cubed ice — it melts slower. Maintain a 2:1 ice-to-contents ratio. Keep the lid closed as much as possible. Store in shade. Warm air is the enemy; every time you open the lid, you reset the clock.

Yes. The base plate is the consumable, not the crate. Install plates in multiple locations and the same crate moves between them. One crate, many mounts.

FIXWATER™ means the crate's interior is made from food-grade polyethylene and can be safely used as a clean drinking-water container. After a deep clean and sanitising rinse, the cooler becomes a 24–51 litre water tank for camping, van life, or emergency use.

How do I sanitise my cooler for FIXWATER™ mode?

Deep clean first with warm water and unscented dish soap. Then sanitise with 1 teaspoon of unscented household bleach (5%) per 4 litres of water. Fill, close, and leave for 30 minutes. Is the cooler safe for storing raw meat and fish?

Yes, the food-grade interior is safe for raw protein. We recommend using the Floor Module Large or a sealed container to prevent cross-contamination, and performing a deep clean after each trip involving raw meat or fish.

Every FIXIF Crate ships with a 6-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Drinkware and accessories carry a 2-year warranty.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Cosmetic wear, scratches and scuffs from normal use, damage from misuse, modification, commercial cargo abuse, or storage in extreme heat. Lost parts and consumables (rope handles) are not covered but can be ordered as replacement parts. Proof of purchase from an authorised retailer is required for all claims.

Unused products in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Used products can be returned within 30 days if they show a manufacturing defect — this becomes a warranty claim. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the product is defective.

How do I clean my FIXIF cooler?

After every trip, open the drain plug, let meltwater out, rinse the interior with warm water, and air-dry with the lid open. For deep cleans, fill with warm water and 60 ml of unscented dish soap or a cup of baking soda, let sit for 20 minutes, scrub corners and gasket with a soft brush, then drain and rinse twice. How do I maintain the gasket and buckles?

Wipe the lid gasket with a damp cloth after every wash — a clean gasket is what keeps ice for days. If the gasket dries out, rub a thin film of food-grade silicone grease on it once or twice a year. FIXLOCK™ aluminium buckles and stainless steel hinges need no maintenance. If exposed to salt water, rinse with fresh water after use.

Can I put my cooler in a dishwasher?

No. The rotomolded body, gasket, and internal hardware are not dishwasher-safe. Hand-wash only with warm water and mild soap.
